How to complete the daily clean and inspect

The chauffeur completes this check for the assigned vehicle before the first call time. A vehicle is ready for the day only when every item passes.

Steps

Work through cleaning items, then safety items, on the phone.

  1. Open todays check

Open the daily check for your vehicle and todays date. Each item is marked pass or fail.

  2. Complete the cleaning items

Exterior washed and wheels clean, interior vacuumed and mats shaken, touch surfaces, leather, and screens wiped, glass inside and out, trash out and seat pockets cleared, water, mints, chargers, tissues, and umbrella stocked, fuel at 3/4 tank or more, and registration, insurance card, and livery permit on board.

  3. Complete the safety items

Tire pressure and tread, all lights and signals, no warning lights on the dash, brakes feel and sound normal, A/C and heat in all rows, and no new body or glass damage.

  4. Record odometer, fuel, issues, and photos

Enter the odometer reading and fuel level, add any issue in plain words, and add photo references where the form asks for them.

  5. Submit and read the result

Submit the check. The result is Ready only when every item passes. Otherwise the vehicle is out of service until cleared.

Result

What the result means for dispatch.

  • Ready: every cleaning and safety item passed for today.
  • Not checked: no check submitted yet for today.
  • Failed: at least one item failed, with the failed item stated.
  • Any failed safety item, including a warning light, a tire under 4/32 inch, brake noise, A/C failure, body or glass damage, or a missed oil service, takes the vehicle out of service until cleared, with no passenger runs until then.

Check board

Managers see each vehicle for today as Ready, Not checked, or Failed.

  • The board states the failed item so the fix is clear.
  • Only an owner or manager clears a vehicle after repair, with a reason recorded.
  • Never assign a run to a vehicle that failed its daily check.
